Cases dealt with under the Single Justice Procedure will be listed online, as part of HM Courts and Tribunals Service's efforts to make the justice system more transparent.
With effect from Wednesday, 5th June 2019 daily SJP listings will be published in relation to TV Licensing cases in the Midlands region and Transport for London cases in the capital.
The lists are produced by HMCTS's Automated Track Case Management (ATCM) system. They will include the following:
- Defendant's first initial and surname;
- Defendant's home town and first two letters of post code;
- Offence;
- Prosecuting authority.
According to HMCTS, publishing these case lists online will allow a more consistent and dependable flow of information to the public and media, increasing transparency in the justice system.
It is expected that all TV Licensing cases will be published from later this summer, with DVLA cases being rolled out by the end of the year.
